I’ve been thinking about what John McCain said to a supporter at a rally recently. He was boo’ed for it, but he did the right thing. The tenor of “hate politics” has been rampant. On both sides, murky characters are making You Tube videos and passing out links touting “The Truth” about this or that. Sarah Palin’s assertion that Obama has been hanging out with terrorists is incendiary. I wonder if John McCain finally realized that and took a step to tone it down, even though I don’t believe his handlers would have agreed. (Karl Rove was behind the South Carolina smear of 2000, after all.) Words can be powerful. People need to be held accountable for what they say. The candidates need to be held responsible.

With all that in mind, I found a video that I like. Enjoy.

Woodstock Farms

Looking for some lovely organic frozen vegetables? Woodstock Farms has some beautiful packaging and lovely sentiments about being in harmony with your health, the earth, and so forth. But look a little more closely. Their lovely “organic” frozen vegetables are shipped in from CHINA! How big a carbon footprint is that petite 10 ounce bag of broccoli making, anyway? What’s wrong with broccoli grown in California?

I didn’t buy any frozen vegetables, but I did plant some broccoli and spinach in the garden.
