I hear that the car company executives flew on private jets to testify before congress about how badly they needed a bail out. I don’t have access to a private jet. I need to run a marathon in every state and I have 41 to go. A private jet would really come in handy. And it would be better if I didn’t have to work and could hire a cook. I am thinking a bail out sounds like a good idea.
Forgive me for getting corny, but in my humble opinion, it is reassuring to know that the United States is still the land of opportunity. What an historic time. The kids were glued to the TV, understanding that no matter who won, it was historic and important. We know more about the electoral college than I ever did. We’ve used charts and trackers and all manner of helpful widgets on the Internet. We could see the blue and red spotlights at the Arizona Biltmore, McCain’s set up, from our house. I was impressed with the graciousness of McCain’s concession speech, but discouraged by the booing from the crowd. I hope McCain continues to try to build bridges. I hope he behaves like an elder statesman and not a sore loser. I have hope that he will.
